How can I install Adobe AIR on Ubuntu and Linux Mint?

To use the Balsamiq Mockups tool, I had to install Adobe AIR. Unfortunately the product seems to be discontinued and Adobe are jerks and don’t provide instructions for installing it on GNU/Linux.

  1. I am developing WireframeSketcher wireframing tool and we pay a lot of attention to Ubuntu support. It’s a Java app with GTK UI bindings so it feels much more like a native app. It can be easily installed from the deb package or directly from Software Center. If the situation with AIR does not improve you then consider WireframeSketcher as an alternative.

      1. The price is $99 for a single user. The license is perpetual with 12 months of updates included. After 12 months you have an option to renew for ~$30 to get another 12 months of updates. Otherwise you can continue to use the version you already own.
